This privacy policy explains how Macpactor collects and uses personal information when you visit macpactor.com or contact us. We only collect what we need to respond to your enquiry and run our website, and we never sell your information.

This website is operated by Bernard McCartney Limited, trading as Macpactor (“Macpactor”, “we”, “us”). We are a company registered in England and Wales, company number 01515756, and we are the controller of the personal information described in this policy.

The information we collect
When you send an enquiry through our contact form, we collect:
- how you would like us to contact you (enquiry or call-back)
- your name and company
- your email address and phone number
- where you are based
- your machine make and model (if you provide it)
- the details of your enquiry
When you email or phone us directly, we collect the information you choose to give us, such as your name, contact details and the content of your message.
When you browse our website, and only if you agree to analytics cookies, we collect information about how you use the site. This includes the pages you visit, how you arrived, your approximate location (country or city), and your device and browser type. See “Cookies and analytics” below.
How we use your information and our lawful basis
- To respond to your enquiry, provide quotes and arrange call-backs. Lawful basis: taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, and our legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries.
- To supply products and services and manage our customer relationship if you go on to buy from us. Lawful basis: performance of a contract, and our legitimate interests.
- To understand how our website is used so we can improve it. Lawful basis: your consent, which you give or refuse through our cookie banner.
- To keep our website secure and prevent spam or misuse. Lawful basis: our legitimate interest in protecting our website and business.
- To comply with our legal obligations, for example tax and accounting records.
We do not use your information for automated decision-making, and we will not add you to marketing mailing lists without your permission.
Who we share it with
We only share your information where needed to run our business, with:
- Macpactor colleagues and offices, including our North American office in Indiana, USA and our European representatives, where your enquiry relates to their region.
- Our service providers, who act on our instructions: our website host (UK), Microsoft (business email), Google (website analytics, only with your consent) and CookieYes (cookie consent management).
- Professional advisers and authorities, such as our accountants or legal advisers, or where the law requires us to share it.
International transfers
Some of the people and providers above are outside the UK, including our US office, Microsoft and Google. When personal information is transferred outside the UK, we make sure it is protected. We do this by relying on UK adequacy regulations (including the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework where the recipient is certified), or on the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not lead to business: up to 24 months from our last contact with you.
- Customer records: for as long as you are a customer, and then for up to 6 years to meet our legal and accounting obligations and in case of warranty claims.
- Analytics data: up to 14 months in Google Analytics.
Cookies and analytics
Cookies are small files stored on your device. When you first visit, our cookie banner lets you accept, reject or customise non-essential cookies. Analytics cookies are not set unless you accept them. You can change your choice at any time using the cookie settings link on our website, or by clearing cookies in your browser.

Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete
- ask us to delete your information
- ask us to restrict how we use it, or object to our use of it where we rely on legitimate interests
- ask us to transfer information you gave us to another organisation
- withdraw your consent at any time, for example to analytics cookies
To use any of these rights, email info@macpactor.com. We will respond within one month. You do not normally have to pay a fee.
Complaints
If you have concerns about how we use your information, please contact us first so we can try to put things right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK data protection regulator: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or 0303 123 1113.
